The Regional Re-granting Program was established in 2007 to recognize and support the movement of independently organized, public-facing, artist-centered activity that animates local and regional art scenes but that lies beyond the reach of traditional funding sources. The program is administered by non-profit visual art centers across the United States that work in partnership with the Foundation to fund artists’ experimental projects and collaborative undertakings.
The Pivotal Fund was a partnership between VAE Raleigh and Elsewhere Museum that provided direct financial support to artists for their creative practices and to fund their most ambitious ideas. The Pivotal Fund, now the Snapdragon Fund, is one of 32 regional regranting sites funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
THE PIVOTAL FUND
The Snapdragon and Pivotal Fund logos were designed by Kinari Council (he/they), a community-based mixed media artist, designer located in Tennessee. He attended NCA&T’S VISART Program and utilizes the skills he learned to create socially conscious art centered around creating awareness and engaging subjects concerning marginalized groups. His passion is to use his creativity to speak to and for those that often go overlooked.
